Autumn Reflections

Nature’s changing palette, the falling leaves, the autumn chill, and times of harvest and preparation for winter bring memories of October joys long past. Clarinet soloist Robert Chest will be featured in composer James Barnes tone poem Autumn Soliloquy, and other composers featured in this concert include Vaughan Williams, Offenbach, Rachmaninoff, and Shostakovich. Celebrate the changing seasons with the Greenville Concert Band, plus Halloween music and treats for children of all ages.

The Glory of Christmas

Celebrate the glory of “Mary’s Baby Boy” with the musicians of the Greenville Concert Band as they present the music of the season. Music featured includes Jester Hairston’s beautiful Mary’s Boy Child and the marvelous 15th century Wexford Carol from Ireland.

Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue

The Greenville Concert Band presents an amazing array of great selections—old ones, new ones, borrowed ones, and blue ones—in the spectacular new Arts Center of the First Presbyterian Church. Such works as Procession of Nobles by Nicholas Rimsky-Korsakov, Reflective Mood by Count Basie’s arranger Sammy Nestico, Fantasia in G Major by Johann Sebastian Bach, and a newly written work by Greenville composer Jess Langston Turner will thrill the audience!
