Proclamation
Whereas, The Greenville Concert Band has entertained the public in Greenville and the surrounding area with free, fine concert music performances since 1972, and;
Whereas, The Greenville Concert Band provides a lifetime opportunity for talented local wind and percussion musicians to perform with a high-quality ensemble, and;
Whereas, The Greenville Concert Band is performing a grand concert to celebrate 50 years of service to the community, in the tradition of the John Philip Sousa band, on May 19, 2023, and;
Whereas, The City of Greenville is proud to claim the Greenville Concert Band as a premiere regional community arts organization,
Now, therefore, I, Mayor Knox White, Mayor of the City of Greenville, and on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim May 19, 2023 as
“Greenville Concert Band Day”
In the city of Greenville and on behalf of City Council encourage all citizens to enjoy the celebratory concert on May 19, 7:00 PM, at Rodeheaver Auditorium on the Bob Jones University campus.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the city of Greenville to be affixed this 11th day of May 2023.
